Leader

For whatever reason, Wendy has found herself in many leadership positions during her life.

Leaders have a responsibility, not only to lead, but also to realise that they are in positions of trust. Many of Wendy’s early leadership positions were of sporting teams in both hockey and tennis.

Latterly her leadership positions have been voluntary.

She has been President of the Wellington branch of the National Speakers Association, President of a Rotary club, a Paul Harris Fellow with sapphire pin, a Rotary District Assistant Governor and a member of the Rotary District Training and Development committee. She'd been President of the New Zealand Association for Psychological Type and Vice-President of the Wellington Branch of the New Zealand Association for Training and Development. And on the sporting side, she's been both Club Captain and President of Plimmerton Croquet Club.

True leaders pass their knowledge and experience on to others. They make sure that they pass the mantle of leadership to others who will realise their own leadership potential and take their place as leaders of the future.

Wendy inspires the leaders she works with.

“I watched Wendy presenting two workshops she had designed for Rotary at the Leadership weekend for Presidents and Club Leaders on 13 April 2003. One presentation was entitled ‘Leadership and Motivation’ and the other ‘Presentation Tips for Presidents’. The two seminars were designed for the 62 Presidents-elect in our District.

“The feedback that was received from these leaders confirmed the impression that I formed, namely that her audience left the seminars well informed and well prepared to lead their clubs to a successful year.

“It is my opinion that Wendy is a speaker who is able to command the attention of any group of people. She involves her audiences, challenges them both intellectually and practically and uses humour and stories to help them to remember her messages long after she has gone.”
